The Kulyakartu Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC holds native title in trust for the Kulyakartu people in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. Lodged in 2005, the Kulyakartu claim was resolved at an on-country hearing of the Federal Court of Australia.
Justice McKerracher, of the Federal Court of Australia, in making the determination, recognised the exclusive native title rights and interests of the Kulyakartu native title holders over ‘Part A’ of the land and waters, the subject of Kulyakartu and Kulyakartu #2. The remaining portion of Kulyakartu and Kulyakartu #2, referred to as ‘Part B’, has been set aside for resolution at a later date.
