On 28 April 2015, Greenwood J made a positive native title determination, recognising the native title holders’ native title rights and interests. The determination recognised three different groups of native title holders, namely the Wuthathi People, the Kuuku Ya’u People and the Northern Kaanju People. The Bromley Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC represents these native title holders.

Cape York Traditional Owners gain Native Title Determinations

State Development Minister and Natural Resources and Mines Minister Dr Anthony Lynham said the Federal Court of Australia today recognised the native title rights and interests of the Wuthathi, Kuuku Y'au and Northern Kaanju peoples over about 165,000 hectares of land and waters on Cape York Peninsula.
