The Eynewantheyne Aboriginal Corporation act as an agent for the native title holders.

On 7 April 2016, Reeves J recognised the native title rights and interests of the traditional owners in the Kaytetye, Anmatyerr and Warumunga territory. The area subject to the determination comprised approximately 10,000 square kilometres situated approximately 300 kilometres north of Alice Springs. In that case, the native title claimants were members of a society who share a body of laws and customs which originate in the “Altyerre” in the Kaytetye and Anmatyerr languages and “Wirnkarra” in Warumungu language, or the “Dreaming”, or “Dreamtime”, in English.

The native title rights and interests of the traditional owners do not confer possession, occupation, use and enjoyment of the land and waters to the exclusion of all others.

The traditional owners are Anmatyerr and Kaytetye speakers from 13 different landholding groups. From tomorrow, the members of these groups will hold native title rights over the determination area and govern how rights and interests in land are acquired and held within the area.
